Thousands march near Mecca for Islamic pilgrimage in remarkable timelapse video

Thousands of Muslimpilgrims can be seen crossing Jamarat bridge, as they march towards the holy city of Mecca and to Mina, in this timelapse video.

One of the five pillars of Islamm all Muslims need to complete at least one Hajj pilgrimage in their lives.

The journey to Saudi Arabia results in the world largest single gathering of people.

More than two million Muslims have gathered in Mecca this year for the annual Hajj pilgrimage.

Among the religious rituals performed by worshippers is walking in circle around the Kaaba, a black cube-shaped structure at the centre of the Great Mosque.

This year, the Hajj started on the evening of Sunday 19 August and ends on Friday 24 August.
