Thousands disturbed by 'gross' image of boobs - but some think it's 'beautiful'

A simple image has left thousands of people feeling stunned after revealing what a woman's muscle system really looks like.

Twitter user @lemonadead shared a biological diagram of a woman's breasts with people on social media and many were shocked to discover the true appearance of a woman's milk ducts.

The image was captioned: "I just realised I never saw a photo of a female muscle system. This is NOT what I imagined milk ducts to look like."

More than 132,000 people liked the post with over 43.000 people retweeting it and there were also plenty of comments from shocked men and women who wanted to unsee the photo.

The photo has been doing the rounds on Twitter (Twitter)

"This made my skin crawl," wrote one person.

"I don't want breasts anymore," proclaimed a second.

Another wrote: "It looks like a weird alien creature lives inside my body and I'm terrified."

A third added: "Gross, stop showing me this picture."

Bride slammed for not asking best friend to be in wedding - because of her boobs

However not everyone was disturbed by the image, there were plenty of people who thought it was "beautiful" and compared it to a piece of art.

"Why is everyone saying it's gross," asked a different user. "We have literal flowers in our titties that's so cool."

"It's beautiful to me. I breast fed my kids and wow! Those things nourished my babies," said someone else.

One woman pointed out that it's only freaking people out because we're all used to seeing a man's biology in class.

Dads may soon be able to breastfeed their newborn babies with first ever 'chestfeeding kit'

She commented: "Maybe it's only freaking people out because it's not normalised because of the patriarchy showing us a man's biology in class."

Another agreed, adding: "Woah, I must of learned what breasts look like by studying men's breasts, cause this is BRAND NEW. I am thinking hard about patriarchy and our educational system. I should not be this old and making discoveries about my own body over Twitter."

Others began comparing the milk ducts to various objects, including water balloons and fake nail tips.

Some pointed out that the diagram wasn't quite correct, as the ducts would be covered by plenty of fatty tissue.
