A thoughtful mum and generous butcher shop workers have teamed up to create a fun-filled Easter egg hunt in Elderslie.
Mum-of-two Antonia Crawford put together the scavenger hunt around the village as a fun Easter activity for her two sons Ronnie and Arlo.
Being a regular customer at Elderslie Butchers, she asked Gavin Colquhoun and Daniel Muir, who own the Stoddard Square shop, if she could finish the activity there and leave some chocolate eggs as the prize.
The pair were more than happy to oblige and kindly decided to buy 200 Easter eggs and pitched the idea to Antonia to open up the hunt to the whole community.
Now, a total of 170 children are set to put their thinking caps on and take part in the adventure in the hopes of finding the prize.
Antonia, who lives in Elderslie, said: “During all the various stages of lockdown, my eldest son took part in a similar event through his school, Wallace Primary.
“It was great as it allowed families and kids to be out and take part in something and still stick to the restrictions.

“It got me thinking about doing something similar for my own kids and I had a think and as I shop in Elderslie Butchers I decided to ask Gavin and Daniel if they would let me have the finishing point as their shop.
“They were more than happy to do that, and then they decided to buy 200 Easter eggs and thought we could open it up to any kids who want to take part.”
Antonia is now hard at work preparing to send out the clues and a treasure map to parents before the event on Sunday.
Youngsters will go in hunt of the chocolate treats, visiting well-known sites and places in the village - starting at the Wallace Monument on Main Road.
Antonia - who will be taking part with her two sons aged three and seven, hopes the families who all take part will enjoy it.
She added: “You never quite know what the Scottish weather is going to be like but I’m hoping it all goes well.
“Kids have missed out on so much this past year and my boys have wanted to be outside rain or shine. I hope this gives families some enjoyment.”
Gavin added: “Antonia has put in some effort for the kids. It was all her idea and we are happy to be part of it. It’s been a bit of a rubbish year for everyone and we just thought if could do something nice to cheer folk up them we should.
“Daniel is getting right into it and is putting a treasure chest together for the eggs. Hopefully the kids will enjoy it.”
