What is Krispy Kreme Hot Light?
When the ‘Hot Light’ turns on, it means that the donuts are fresh off the line. This alerts customers that the confections are fresh and ready to eat. If you visit during these times, inside or drive-thru, you can receive a free donut per person. On the other hand, some stores require a purchase for the donut to be free. Moreover, this only applies to the Original Glazed.

The video starts with Florida TikToker @mzdarvette sitting in the Krispy Kreme drive-thru.
“Thank you for choosing Krispy Kreme. Order whenever you’re ready,” a female worker greets.
“I saw it where it said that the hot light is on,” she responds. “You give out donuts per person.”
Immediately, the employee asks, “So, how many people are in the car?”
After informing the employee of only two people in the car, the content creator pulls up to the window, where she is handed a bag of glazed donuts.
Once @mzdarvette parks her car, she urges 1.3 million viewers to rush to their nearest Krispy Kreme. “Y’all better go get donuts,” she says, opening her bag to unveil the two donuts inside.

“Aht aht, let me make sure I set a reminder for tomorrow,” another stated.
“And I will be going after work and waiting for that sign to come on,” a third remarked.
Furthermore, others interpreted this as actual hot donuts, which is partially true.
“I didn’t know that about the sign,” one commenter wrote. “I just thought they were telling you they were hot at the moment.”
“Thought it meant just fresh & hot LOL, thanks sista,” a second echoed.

Reader’s Digest states that the Hot Light window is typically open between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. and between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. daily. The level of activity at the store can also influence whether they may produce extra donuts at different times. Since every location is different, you can download the app to be notified when they are ready. Additionally, you can call them to find out what their Hot Light hours are or if they have it.
