PANAJI: Stating that the expert opinion report does not contradict the postmortem report in the 19-year-old girl’s death case, Goa police on Thursday said that a thorough investigation is being carried out to ascertain the nature and manner in which the girl was found dead.
A senior police officer said that medical experts only provide the cause of death in unnatural death cases, but it is the duty of the police to investigate the nature and the manner in which death took place to come to a logical conclusion.
“We have not stopped investigating the case. We are still exploring all angles, including homicide, suicide and accident. Efforts are on to collect evidence so as to pursue that particular angle,” the senior police officer said and added, “We have not arrived at any conclusion as yet. Hence the investigation as regards to the nature and manner of death are currently being investigated.”
