Thornwood Bar staff ask customers to leave after they refuse to comply with test and trace

A much-loved boozer in Glasgow's west end, the Thornwood Bar, announced they have turn their first post-lockdown customers away after they refused to comply with test and trace requirements.

Staff at the Dumbarton Road pub say the customers refused to co-operate fully with the Scottish Government guidelines and wouldn't hand over their contact details such as their phone number and address.

Commenting on Twitter, bar staff said: "We asked our first customers of post lockdown to leave yesterday for refusing to cooperate fully with test and trace.

"Not got time for shambling when lives and livelihoods count."

Punters have since praised the Thornwood for their approach, with one person saying: "I’ve not been in your bar but I was quoting you as a good example of a pub that seems to be doing it right going by your tweets.

"Good on you asking someone to leave if they’re not complying."

Another added: "If the bar doesn't want to take my details these days I don't wish to drink there. Good on you for sticking to your guns."
