Thornliebank police incident: Boy, 15, in critical condition after being found on street

A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition in hospital in Glasgow following a disturbance in the Thornliebank area last night.

Police and emergency services raced to the scene on Boydstone Road near to Thornliebank train station around 11pm.

On attendance, officers discovered the seriously injured boy.

He was then rushed by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Police enquiries into the incident forced the closure of Thornliebank station this morning - with trains between Glasgow Central station and East Kilbride running non-stop between Pollokshaws West and Giffnock as a result.

Police have confirmed that people have been arrested in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At about 11.10pm last night police received a report of a disturbance on Boydstone Road, Officers attended and found a 15-year-old male seriously injured. He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

"Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident."
