Thornhill shop celebrates 50th anniversary of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory with special give away

Shop owner Liz Cole has just the ticket to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

She’s dressed up as the wacky character and has created 50 colourful, limited edition, delicious chocolate bars containing popping candy.

Children who visit The Moniaive Chocolatiers shop in Thornhill on Wednesday – World Chocolate Day – will be gifted a “Wonka” bar while stocks last.

And hidden in the wrapper of one lies the golden ticket to win a family chocolate workshop at her Drumlanrig Street outlet and a goody bag.

Liz has been busy adorning the shop in candy canes, golden swirls and other delicious decor and scenes from the iconic film will be projected on its walls.

Children are invited to get dressed up to celebrate World Chocolate Day and those who visit The Moniaive Chocolatiers shop in fancy dress will also be entered into a Prize Draw to win a copy of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory book by Roald Dahl and a box of 18 freshly filled, organic, fairly traded, handmade chocolates.

Further lip-smacking events, including film screenings, will be unwrapped throughout the year.
