A Thornhill firm is celebrating after winning a national award.
Nithsdale Roofing was shortlisted for a 2020 Pitched Roofing Award following a job at Durisdeer last year.
And, at a recent online awards ceremony, the company won the best use of a slate tile for a domestic project when they converted the 200-year-old outbuilding in early 2020.
David Crosbie said: “We were delighted to be shortlisted in the first place.
“But to win it was just unbelievable. It was a great feeling.
“I’m in the job 20 years and I don’t normally put up picture of jobs but I was so proud of our work.”
Following the work, David posted photos on the company Facebook page which gathered attention across the world. People from the United States and Australia liked and commented on the post.
The 40-year-old added: “I want to thank Diesel and Codey Ferguson who were my apprentices on the job, as well as my son Reece, who was helping out to get experience at the time.
“They deserve a lot of praise and we’re really happy a local business can win an award like this.”
