Thor Bjornsson demands Tyson Fury sends fight contract after missing Iceland meeting

Thor Bjornsson missed Tyson Fury during his recent visit to Iceland due to filming a movie in Italy, but has demanded the boxing legend send him a fight contract.

Bjornsson, once a winner of the world's strongest man, has made the switch into boxing over the last few years, changing up his body in a drastic weight loss effort, and wants an exhibition bout with the world heavyweight champion. Fury, for his part, has helped to stoke talks of a fight by calling out Bjornsson on a number of occasions.

And he even travelled to Iceland with his dad John today in order to help to push a fight through, although his rival wasn't there. Instead, he was in Rome filming a new project, and he won't return before a trip to Texas, where Tyson is currently unable to travel.

"Hey guys, I hope you're all having a great day," Bjornsson said in an update to fans on Instagram. "I'm currently in Rome filming a movie, loving life and guess what? Tyson Fury is in Iceland, tried to find me, couldn't find me because I'm not there.

"I'm travelling around the world, going from here to Austin, Texas. Tyson, if your team is serious and if you're serious about fighting me, have your team send me a contract, let's get serious and I'll find you. I'll come to you, I'll find you, no worries, just send me the contract and we'll get going."

Fury had shared a number of videos taunting Bjornsson from his home country, including one where his dad claims they had run the 6'9" strongman out of town. The pair appear to be working towards an exhibition bout, which wouldn't go on Fury's professional record after he announced his retirement from boxing earlier this year.

The world heavyweight champion is considered a pound-for-pound great of his era, and has never lost in his lengthy professional career. Meanwhile, Bjornsson is a raw novice who has won his two competitive fights against Eddie Hall and Devon Larratt and held his own in exhibitions with Simon Valily and Steven Ward.

"You know where we are guys? Iceland," he said in one video. "You know what we're doing guys, we're looking for Thor. Come out and fight like a man."

In another video, he added: "So we came to Iceland to fight Thor, he's not here. Now Thor, if you want any smoke from 'The Gypsy King' you're going to have to come to Morecambe Bay and fight me on a pilgrimage. All the best, see you soon."

Fury is also currently locked in negotiations for a legitimate boxing comeback against Derek Chisora, with whom he has fought twice in 2011 and 2014. The pair became friends after the fight, but have fallen out since Chisora picked Dillian Whyte to beat Fury in his last fight at Wembley Stadium, and now could be set to fight once more.
