Thomas Tuchel warns Chelsea FC rivals ‘there is far more to come’ after signing contract extension

Thomas Tuchel said Chelsea’s Champions League win is just the start of his plans for the club after he signed a two-year contract extension at Stamford Bridge.

After leading Chelsea to European glory with a classy victory over Manchester City in the Champions League Final, Tuchel has been rewarded with a deal until 2024.

Tuchel has set his sights on mounting a serious challenge for the Premier League title next season and has warned his rivals “there is far more to come” from Chelsea under his leadership.

The German was given an initial 18-month deal when he replaced Frank Lampard in west London in January but is delighted to commit his long-term future to the club.

"I cannot imagine a better occasion for a contract renewal," said Tuchel.

“I am grateful for the experience and very happy to stay part of the Chelsea family.

"There is far more to come and we are looking forward to our next steps with ambition and much anticipation."
