Thomas Tuchel told which front three to pick for Chelsea's clash with Crystal Palace

Chelsea travel to Selhurst Park today to face London rivals Crystal Palace in what is somewhat of a must-win for the Blues.

Despite success in the Club World Cup final against Palmeiras, the west Londoners' league form has left something to be desired, with just one win in their last five games, although that win was their last game in the league against Tottenham.

With clubs below them lurking, the Blues are perhaps looking behind them rather than looking up at Manchester City, who boast a 16-point lead over them, so getting today right will be crucial for Thomas Tuchel.

It will be interesting to see who the German chooses, especially across the frontline.

Chelsea have a plethora of attacking options to choose from so it does make it a very difficult decision for Tuchel to make in terms of which front three is best suited for each specific game.

Mason Mount is currently ruled out of action and isn't expected to feature in any game within the next two weeks, so with that in mind, former Arsenal star Paul Merson has given his thoughts on who Tuchel should select.

"Mason Mount is injured and that’s a massive blow for Thomas Tuchel, but if I was tasked with naming a front three for Chelsea at the moment, I’d go for Hakim Ziyech, Romelu Lukaku and Kai Havertz," Merson said.

Whoever is chosen to start in today's London clash, three points are imperative as failure to do so could result in Chelsea being dragged into this season's top-four race.
