Thomas Tuchel sent mixed messages by Chelsea fans after shock team news for Brentford clash

Chelsea supporters have been reacting to Thomas Tuchel's latest team selection for their clash with Brentford this evening, with the inclusion of Malang Sarr the main talking point.

The Blues could climb back to the summit of the Premier League table with three points at the Brentford Community Stadium after Liverpool claimed top spot with a thumping 5-0 win against Watford earlier in the afternoon.

Tuchel has gone with this XI for the clash against the Bees: Edouard Mendy; Trevoh Chalobah, Sarr; Cesar Azpilicueta, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, N'Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Ben Chilwell; Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner.

Chelsea supporters, when taking to social media following the team announcement, were divided by Tuchel's decision to play Sarr and hand him his Premier League debut.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference earlier in the week, Tuchel was asked about the challenge of his players regaining focus after the two-week international break, and the Chelsea boss opened up on the difficulties.

The German said: "To recreate the feeling, momentum and energy that every team needs to wins games is the big challenge.

"It's always difficult after travelling and games for different teams, in different countries and different styles of play.

"It's always a challenge to restart the engine and the momentum.

"We can call it mentality or whatever, it's not so easy but, on the other hand, we are used to it and it's good that we are aware things can be difficult.

"Nobody expects an easy game tomorrow, this is very clear for us and it's a good first step that we arrive with that expectation.

"We face a tough opponent at a difficult moment because they are in a good moment, deserve their points, and will play with a lot of enthusiasm.

"This is what we have to face and we have to face it with only two training sessions together. This is the challenge and we will see how good we are."
