Thomas Tuchel's true feelings on Timo Werner transfer exit revealed amid Juventus interest

Thomas Tuchel wants Timo Werner to stay at Chelsea this summer, according to the latest reports.

football.london understands that Werner is open to leaving the Blues, but his wages are proving to be an issue for potential buyers. The German may have to take a large pay cut should he wish to move on from Stamford Bridge.

football.london also learned a few months ago that it's impossible for Borussia Dortmund to sign Chelsea's frontman because of this. Juventus have shown interest in recent days, though.

Werner wants more minutes ahead of Germany's World Cup campaign in Qatar later this year. However, according to Kicker, Tuchel has 'put a stop' to his plan to leave Chelsea as he still wants the 26-year-old to be part of his squad for the upcoming campaign.

Tuchel previously made it clear that he thinks Werner has something to prove at the club. As cited by the Metro, he said: "I don't know about it, Timo has not talked to me about it,' said the Chelsea manager.

"In the moment, I think he wants to make his way at Chelsea. He has still to prove a point."

That being said, Werner aims to play regular football before Germany kick-off their campaign in November: "I could be happy everywhere," he said. "It is clear I want to play more, and I should play more to first be in good shape for the World Cup and also to have a chance to play at the World Cup.

"It doesn't change anything whether it is a winter World Cup or in the summer. I think if I play half of the season or the whole season, I should play. It doesn't change anything in my mind."
