Thomas Tuchel has turned things around at Chelsea thanks to the quality of his communication and the intensity he brings to the club.
That's according to ESPN, who state that the German coach has made big changes at Cobham training ground that have led to improved results on the pitch.
Tuchel apparently spoke at length with the likes of Antonio Rudiger and Thiago Silva before taking the job at Stamford Bridge to gauge the mood at the club and what changes would be necessary.
The report states that the level and quality of communication has been the biggest change at the club, and that have been no fractures between the squad and the manager - though it is still early days in his tenure.
Tuchel has apparently made an effort to motivate players who on the fringes of the squad under Frank Lampard, and has been quick to explain to players why they are not playing if they are left out of the squad.
Tuchel is said to have had a long conversation with Callum Hudson-Odoi the day after his humbling experience of coming on as a half-time substitute, only to be replaced himself 30 minutes later. The winger is said to have been reassured about his future opportunities, as well as being told why the manager was disappointed with his performance.
The other aspect that Tuchel is said to have changed is the intensity that he has brought to the team.
Tuchel has made sure that his training sessions are innovative and entertaining to make sure his squad are having fun and kept on their toes, so that when he does ask them to work hard they follow through with it.
The intensity of the drills is said to have risen, and Tuchel's repetition with patterns of play, ball movement and structure has ensured Chelsea are more focused on their task against opponents, with a clearer idea of their own responsibilities on the pitch.
Tuchel is also working on the squad's flexibility, so that they can switch between tactics and formation in a game.
His introduction has apparently brought a big impression from the players, who have received his new ideas well.
