Thomas Tuchel reveals Daniel Farke talks as Chelsea ponder cutting Billy Gilmour's loan short

Thomas Tuchel has confirmed he has talked to Daniel Farke about Billy Gilmour's loan at Norwich City but the Chelsea boss has no plans to make a decision on a January recall at the moment.

Scotland international Gilmour began the season as a mainstay in the Canaries team but since the return of Mathias Normann, the youngster has predominantly be confined to the bench.

Farke noted in October that the Chelsea loanee's playing time was being managed following the summer and international football, and also that a knock ahead of the clash with Burnley had prevented Gilmour from playing more often.

Blues followers have been far from convinced as Norwich sit at the bottom of the Premier League table with only two draws to speak of.

Gilmour has not featured since September. However, Tuchel is not perturbed.

He said in his press conference ahead of Malmo: "We will take the decision in January when the decision has to be made and not now.

"I spoke to Daniel about it and I was happy to meet Billy around the Norwich match at Stamford Bridge. Things were clear when we decided together he is looking for more minutes and gametime at another club. The challenge was clear, that he needs to fight his way through. This is where he is right now, things are not going as he wishes for, as well all wish for.

"It is not the moment now to already give solutions and cancel the whole project. Sometimes these weeks and months arrive where the situation seems to be stuck or it seems to not go the right way.

"You have to hang in there and show the quality and help your team no matter where it is. That sharpens your character and that will be a big chapter in your career and that's the same for Billy.

"It is not the moment to already give solutions for January and open talks to bring him back, now it is the start of November, there are months to go and there is still a lot of time to prove he has enough quality to help Norwich be a better team."
