Thomas Tuchel responds to Chelsea blast from Romelu Lukaku as Stamford Bridge boss promises showdown talks

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has responded to a shock Italian interview featuring Romelu Lukaku, in which the striker says he's unhappy at the Premier League club.

Lukaku moved back to Stamford Bridge in the summer for £97m as he left Inter Milan behind after delivering their first Sucedetto in a decade with Antonio Conte, who also left and is now in charge at Spurs.

But a surprise sit down with Sky Italia revealed just months into his London return he was unhappy and feeling he was under-utilised by German coach Tuchel at Chelsea.

And he even revealed a desire to return to the Nerazzuri one day, insisting the club remained "in my heart".

All of this was news to Tuchel as he responded to the interview on Friday morning.

Tuchel said: "Yes, we don't like it. It brings noise we don't need. It is not helpful but we don't want to make more of it than it actually is. It is very easy to take lines out of context, make headlines.

"Nobody in this building was aware he is unhappy so that is why it is a surprise.

"We need to check, wait and see what Lukaku says and deal with it.

"We will (discuss it). But we will do it behind closed doors."
