Thomas Tuchel provides Neymar fitness update ahead of PSG vs Manchester United

Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Neymar will be fit to face Manchester United on Tuesday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side kick off their Champions League campaign at the Parc des Princes next week.

With a match against Newcastle United in the Premier League to come on Saturday, United will be eager to return to winning ways in the top flight before taking on last season's Champions League finalists in the French capital.

Neymar was left out of PSG team on Friday as they cruised to a 4-0 win in Nimes, just three days after the had scored a hat-trick for Brazil against Peru in World Cup qualifying.

Match preview: Newcastle v Manchester United

Tuchel has revealed that the decision was made to rest Neymar and insisted he will play against United in Paris on Tuesday.

"Ney(mar) doesn't have any issue. We talked together, like I did with Kylian [Mbappe]," the PSG coach said. "We had an honest discussion and I decided to let him rest today. He will be with us tomorrow. He will train and get ready for the game against Manchester United. He will be on the pitch, for sure."
