Thomas Tuchel provides N'Golo Kante and Jorginho injury news ahead of Chelsea vs Leeds

Thomas Tuchel has revealed that Jorginho will be fit enough to face Leeds United at the weekend.

The Italian midfield missed the game against Zenit Saint Petersburg due to back pain that was required to be managed in a busy Chelsea schedule.

Loftus-Cheek was also ruled out ahead of the clash with Zenit after suffering an injury in the warm up to the Champions League clash. The Blues boss omitted his name from the list of injured players he named but there wasn't much good news on that front.

Tuchel was very matter of fact surrounding the current injury situation.

He said: "Trevoh Chalobah is still out, Mateo Kovacic is obviously out, N'Golo Kante out and Ben Chilwell.

"He [Jorginho] did the last two training sessions and I think he will do what he did the last games and play through pain and do what is needed to be on the pitch."

Amid news of teams around the Premier League being impacted by Covid-19 outbreaks, to the extent of Tottenham's match against Brighton being cancelled, Tuchel was asked about the situation at Chelsea.

Kovacic tested positive earlier in the week and remains out but it's a clean bill of health for the rest of the Chelsea squad.

Tuchel said: "In Germany we knock on wood and if we don't have wood we knock on the head because everybody is healthy except for Mateo who tested positive.

"We had a lot of tests to make our trip to Russia and to make it back and today another one. We were tested when we arrived straightaway in the middle of the night.

"This is sometimes not the nicest things to do but I was impressed with the way it was organised and the patience that everybody and the staff and whole plane took it to be there in the middle of the night and wait for the PCR test to be taken."
