Thomas Tuchel was left scratching his head as Chelsea dropped more points in the title race following their draw with Everton.
The Toffees pegged back the Blues at Stamford Bridge as Jarrad Branthwaite cancelled out Mason Mount's opener.
Chelsea's stalemate comes after wins for both Manchester City and Liverpool, who have both been able to steal ground on the west Londoners.
Tuchel has only seen his side win three of their last seven games.
Draws with Everton and Burnley saw the Blues relinquish the lead, whilst they needed a last minute penalty to beat Leeds United recently.
"It was the the same story against Burnley and almost the same story then against Leeds where we escaped with three points with a late penalty," Tuchel told beIN SPORTS.

"It’s a bit of the same story today. We put in a huge effort for one goal and the opponent puts in a minimum effort for the same amount of goals so you end up with a bad result."
Tuchel is aiming to win the league title in England at the first time of asking having arrived midway through last season.
Nevertheless he has been left scratching his head as to why his team, so often resolute in defence, keep shipping goals that cost them points.
He added: "We played a very good first half, we had enough chances to be minimum two goals ahead, we were not and it made our lives difficult.
"Then we finally scored and, like in the last four or five games, we cannot keep the lead, we lose the lead again and I don’t know why at the moment.
"It’s just a fact and if a fact repeats itself like five times, we need to accept it and we cannot look away from it.
"We get punished for not a lot, but we get punished in consecutive games."
Tuchel is currently dealing with several absentees with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz all out.

Injuries and Covid has meant they are unavailable - something the German feels isn't the case with their rivals.
"The big difference is that City and Liverpool have no injured players," he claimed.
"We have like six or seven players out, this can happen and you need the whole squad to be competitive and if not we struggle.
"It’s not a problem, but we have to accept it. Totally unnecessary today, but it happens to us in the moment."
Chelsea's next assignment is at trip to Molineux where Wolves lie in wait.
