Thomas Tuchel learns David Alaba's transfer wish as Serie A ace addresses Chelsea links

Here is your Chelsea morning digest for Friday, February 26.

Serie A starlet flattered by Chelsea interest

Inter Milan striker Martin Satriano insists he is flattered to be linked with a move to the Premier League amid reported interest from Chelsea.

The 20-year-old, who joined the Serie A heavyweights back in January 2020 from Uruguayan club Nacional, has been a regular in Inter's Under-19s side, scoring seven goals in 16 appearances.

Satriano has also made it into Inter's first-team this season, making the substitutes bench on three separate occasions.

With his stock poised to rise in the years to come, both Chelsea and Arsenal have been credited with interest in his services, and Satriano has admitted that he would, one day, be open to playing in the Premier League.

Football Digest: Was Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel right to call out Callum Hudson-Odoi?

"It is always flattering [the interest from the Premier League], it is a sign that I am doing things well and that I have to continue down that path," Satriano told Sportsmail.

"I try to use it as an incentive to keep working and be better every day. The Premier League is the number one league in the world in terms of competition, that I think all the players want to play, I think all the teams are very good.

"It is a very competitive league where any team can beat anyone. But for now, I am totally focused on Inter and to do the best with them."

Alaba makes midfield demand

Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for out-of-contract Bayern Munich star David Alaba in recent months.

The Austrian recently confirmed that he will be leaving the club upon his contract expiring at the end of the season and is attracting no shortage of interest.

Along with the Blues, Real Madrid have been credited with interest in the defender, who can operate at either centre-back or left-back.

Now, though, according to a report by Le Parisien, Alaba wants to make it clear to his new potential club that he wishes to play in midfield, as he wishes to continue exploring his versatility.

Whether that claim would rule Chelsea out of making a move for the Austrian remains to be seen.

Berbatov makes Hudson-Odoi admission

Former Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur man Dimitar Berbatov has admitted that he 'sympathises' with Callum Hudson-Odoi after he experienced the unfortunate scenario of being subbed off in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Southampton.

Hudson-Odoi was thrown on at half time as the Blues chased a route back into the game only for Tuchel to haul him off just 31 minutes later.

Tuchel insisted he made the decision because he was not impressed with the England international's attitude.

Despite admitting that he has sympathy for the winger, Berbatov can understand why Tuchel made the move.

"Tuchel has been putting his own stamp on this Chelsea side, and you can see it with his team selections and the changes he makes," Berbatov told Betfair, as quoted by the Metro.

"You sympathise with Callum Hudson-Odoi and the situation he was in, because it is not a pleasant experience for any player to go through something like this.

"I have played in Germany where they are strict and disciplined. I’m sure he didn’t try to humiliate Callum – it was purely based on the player’s attitude and if that attitude was not beneficial for the team then he is going to change it.

"Callum played from the beginning and performed well against Atletico Madrid, so he’s take on board the message to the team that Tuchel demands 100% from his players."
