Thomas Tuchel issues Neymar warning with Brazil superstar set to return to PSG lineup

Thomas Tuchel will call on Neymar for the first time this season at home to Strasbourg this weekend.

And the Paris Saint-Germain boss expects his wantaway star to be given a rough ride on his return to action.

Neymar is likely to make his first appearance of the Ligue 1 season on Saturday, with Tuchel wanting him in action before next week’s Champions League fixture against Real Madrid .

The world’s most expensive player could be greeted with hostility from the home fans at the Parc des Princes, having attempted to force a summer switch to Barcelona .

PSG supporters have let their displeasure with the Brazilian be known recently, during a time where he has been injured.

But with Julian Draxler, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe all sidelined, Tuchel expects him to knuckle down and lead by example on the field.

“He is in the squad. I can understand the fans, but cannot control their reactions. Neymar is our player. We will see what tomorrow brings, but I am not necessarily expecting anything.

"I am convinced he will give everything to reach our goals. First, win here.

“It has not been easy for him, but now it is decided. That is life. We still need to talk a bit, but it is up to me to find a balance.

“Life is not too bad for Neymar in Paris. If we discuss everything his father, mother, or Barcelona said, we will lose our minds. Now, it is settled.”

Mauro Icardi, who has signed on loan from Inter Milan, could also feature for the French champions after being dumped by Antonio Conte.

Regarding the Argentine, the German declared: “He needs to regain his form. Clearly, he is a No. 9 like Edinson. It is a good situation.

He is very happy and it seems to me he feels free. Maybe we will use him here.

"Fifty, 70, or 90 minutes? We will see. Clearly there will be competition.

“His final touch is to score, to finish our moves. He is always dangerous. He does not need too many balls to score. It is not the same style here as with Inter, though, so we will see.”
