Thomas Tuchel has finally got one key message across amid Chelsea’s Premier League title push

Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso has fired a warning to the Blues' Premier League rivals that they are "fighting for every title" this season.

Thomas Tuchel ’s men are currently in the midst of a fascinating title tussle with Manchester City and Liverpool, whilst they are also set to take part in the FIFA Club World Cup early next year.

There are also two further chances for the Blues to add to their domestic trophy cabinet this season in the form of both the Carabao and FA Cups - fixtures against Brentford and Chesterfield respectively are set to decide their potential progression in both competitions.

Elsewhere, Chelsea have also managed to reach the next round of the Champions League and are set to continue the defence of their title against French champions Lille.

Despite a somewhat tricky period that has seen the Blues win just two out of their last five games in all competitions, Alonso has insisted that they still have their eyes firmly set on glory in every form.

Talking in an interview with Chelsea’s official website, he said: “We have to try to manage our recovery with the game time and try to be 100 per cent ready all the time because every game is tough.

“There are a lot of good teams in the Premier League and Champions League so somehow we need to be there again fighting for every title.”

This is a message that has regularly been hammered home by Chelsea boss Tuchel since his arrival at Stamford Bridge. In just under a year with the club, the German has claimed the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup and made no secret about his aspirations of collecting more trophies.

Talking in September, the former Paris Saint-Germain boss said: "This is why we are here. We are here to win and the club is built to win and this is the DNA of the club.

“We want to be competitive and this is what we are up for as coaches and as a team. So any competition we start, we go for the very best and this is a final at Wembley that we want to reach.”
