Thomas Tuchel has failed to discover another Chelsea untouchable after Manchester United draw

Some Chelsea supporters have delivered their verdict on Hakim Ziyech's performance against Manchester United.

The 27-year-old was somewhat of a surprise inclusion in Thomas Tuchel's starting lineup on Sunday afternoon as he took the place of Timo Werner in one of the two attacking midfield roles behind Olivier Giroud.

An explanation for Ziyech being handed a start was revealed ahead of kick-off at Stamford Bridge as the Chelsea head coach confirmed he wanted to keep Werner fresh for Thursday night's clash with Liverpool.

"Hakim is a different kind of player. He deserves to start. He had a good impact in the game against Atletico," Tuchel said ahead of the game.

"We had the feeling to give Timo a little break, to have him from the bench and also fresh for the fixture against Liverpool.

"I felt he was a little bit tired after many games in a row so we give him a rest and let the other guys perform who deserve it."

It is no secret that the Morocco international has been affected by the managerial change which has seen Tuchel replace Lampard as head coach and implement a 3-4-2-1 system.

Ziyech's start against Man United was the first time he had done so in a Premier League match under Tuchel since the goalless draw against Wolves - the German tactician's debut game in charge - on January 27.

And by getting the nod over Werner, the playmaker had the chance to become the latest untouchable in the Chelsea squad.

Since arriving in west London, Tuchel has discovered a core group of undroppable Blues players from his strongest XI that includes Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, and Werner.

However, judging by the reaction on social media, the German has failed to discover another as some Chelsea fans don't think Ziyech is ready to join the core group.

Take a look at what's been said on Twitter...

@TitusVictor7 said: "Ziyech just failed his test of becoming a starter."

@kingwanne said: "Ziyech has failed his biggest test."

@loveyourstobi said: "Ziyech play was bad.. should've started Werner cause Werner would've made some crazy runs...mount did well ...kante was too good today..we failed to convert chances...we move on to Liverpool hopefully we'll do better!"
