Thomas Tuchel has already let slip one Chelsea player who will start against Atletico Madrid

Chelsea's 0-0 draw against Leeds United this afternoon is already fading in the memory of Blues supporters. No surprise really given how the game played out.

Thomas Tuchel's side had the majority of the efforts on target but never really caused Whites goalkeeper Illan Meslier too many problems.

In fact, the closest Chelsea came to scoring at Elland Road was due to a mistake by one of the hosts' defenders. In the first half Luke Ayling smashed a clearance against Diego Llorente and the ball looped off the Spaniard and struck the crossbar.

Tuchel was philosophical after the game. "We have to live with the draw," the German said. "It was a very difficult pitch, very difficult conditions.

"[The pitch was] very slippery, very bouncy, but we accepted all the difficulties, played an absolutely ok away game against a team that puts a lot of pressure on you.

"We found many situations where we could escape their pressure and we had high recoveries of the ball.

"But we were not clinical enough on the counter-attacks, there wasn't enough determination and precision with our final touch so we live with the draw."

Tuchel clearly won't be stewing over the result. There's no time for that in truth.

Chelsea are back in action on Wednesday evening and will be looking to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2014.

The Blues hold a narrow first-leg lead over Atletico Madrid; Olivier Giroud's spectacular goal in Bucharest three weeks ago ensured that. Now Chelsea have to see the tie out at Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel has an array of options to choose from to help make that happen. But second-guessing the German when it comes to his team selections has become a thankless task.

The 47-year-old has often made surprise decisions that have caught opponents, the press, and fans off guard.

But ahead of today's game at Elland Road, Tuchel did all but confirm one player who will start against Atletico on Wednesday night: Mateo Kovacic.

"I don't like to do this but in central midfield, we will miss Jorgi and Mason [against Atletico Madrid], so we took the decision to give Kova a rest," he told BT Sport prior to kick-off. "We normally don't like this but we have two suspensions in midfield so we made changes."
