Thomas Tuchel has already had a major impact on Kai Havertz as £72m Chelsea man proves his worth

Kai Havertz's move to Chelsea hasn't gone to plan so far.

The 21-year-old signed a five-year deal at the Blues for a fee that could rise to £71m.

The former Bayer Leverkusen has not yet captured the form he showed at his previous club and the German has had to make do with being a substitute on multiple occasions this season.

However, he has not been helped by being played out of position by former boss Frank Lampard.

But while some are questioning his quality, nobody could accuse him of not giving his all for Chelsea and new manager Thomas Tuchel last time out.

The attacking midfielder covered 11.41km in the 0-0 draw against Wolves on Wednesday night - more than any other Chelsea player in the game.

He also nearly secured the Blues a late winner in second-half injury time as the German international's header looked destined for the net, only for a deflection to take his effort over the bar.

It seems his efforts were not lost on some Chelsea fans.

Take a look at what's been said on Twitter...

Speaking ahead of the game, Tuchel revealed his plan to get the best out of Havertz and Chelsea's attacking players when explaining his philosophy.

"I hope we will attack and play great football, we play for scoring and creating chances at the same time," Tuchel said.

"When I think about Chelsea football it's an intense game, a game with mentality, a winning mentality who can also defend hard and strong, compact and solid as a group.

"We wanna create this, we see a lot of talent. We have a good mix of experience, personality and young players and of course we wanna encourage them to play attacking style, to be active in all moments of the game."
