Thomas Tuchel could face first big Chelsea transfer decision amid talk of shock exit

Napoli are reportedly exploring the signing of Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Moroccan only arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer in a big-money switch from Ajax.

He has so far struggled for consistency, much like his fellow arrivals, and could potentially be set for a quick exit according to reports in Italy.

As per CalcioMercato, Napoli are interested in Ziyech following the appointment of Luciano Spalletti at the club.

They apparently see the Chelsea man as a perfect addition should either of their current wide options - namely Lorenzo Insigne and Hirving Lozano - move away.

The Naples outfit are apparently keen on his ability to play on either flank, whilst also remaining extremely capable if deployed in a more central position.

Despite their interest, it is also reported that the Serie A outfit have not yet turned their initial interest into a concrete offer of any kind yet.

They do however face competition from Italian rivals AC Milan, who apparently explored the possibility of also signing Ziyech a month ago.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have not ruled out the prospect of selling the winger just a year after he signed for the club.

Since his reported £33m arrival from Ajax last summer, the 28-year-old scored six and assisted four in 39 appearances for the Blues - making just 23 starts throughout the entire 2020/21 campaign.

Ziyech was an unnamed substitute as Chelsea lifted their second UEFA Champions League crown against Manchester City in Porto last weekend.

He still has four years left to run on his Chelsea contract.
