Thomas Tuchel confirms N'Golo Kante and Trevoh Chalobah injury boost ahead of Chelsea vs Everton

Thomas Tuchel has confirmed both N'Golo Kante and Trevoh Chalobah will be available for selection when Chelsea take on Everton in the Premier League on Thursday.

The duo returned to training this week and have both completed the last two sessions and are likely to be on the bench at Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel said at his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon: "N'Golo Kante will be back on the bench tomorrow, he did the last two training sessions.

"Trevoh Chalobah will also be back in the squad. So it's Mateo Kovacic and Ben Chilwell out at the moment."

Kante has returned to training after missing the last five games with a knee injury he picked up in the Champions League win over Juventus last month.

Chalobah is also back in training having missed the last three matches for the Blues with a hamstring issue he sustained in the victory over Watford at Vicarage Road.

Chelsea will be without long-term absentee Ben Chilwell on Thursday night as he continues his rehab from a knee injury he suffered in the Juventus win, with the club hoping to have a long-term diagnosis next month as to whether the left wing-back will need surgery or not.

Mateo Kovacic is not yet out of isolation following his positive Covid-19 test last week prior to the Leeds United victory having returned to full training only the day before his positive result.

Jorginho has been playing through a back problem for the Blues in recent weeks but he will be fine to take on the Toffees, who have injury problems of their own.

Striker Richarlison is ruled out with a calf problem, striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been missing since August with a thigh injury while Yerry Mina, Seamus Coleman and Tom Davies are all doubts for the trip to Stamford Bridge from Merseyside.
