Thomas Tuchel approves plan for £84m winger as Erling Haaland spoke to Frank Lampard at Chelsea

Welcome to our football.london CareFree Chelsea daily news round-up. Maybe not the first, we've definitely done transfer round-ups before, and European round-ups, so I guess in some ways it's not that new at all.

Anyway, we thought we would enter the world of football in a broad and roundabout manner for you and have some fun with some of the stories and captions doing the daily rounds.

Catalan swap deal

Barcelona are involved in all sorts of transfer talk with the signing of the new manager, Xavi. Chelsea being one of the clubs they’re linked doing business with…

Spanish outlet El Nacional have said that Chelsea are asking for £42.5m for Christian Pulisic or a swap for Dutch international Frenkie de Jong in return. Xavi has been looking at bringing in a winger to the side, with the Catalonians being linked to various other wide targets.

Our take: Chelsea have presented their demands of the deal with two options.

Either to pay the required fee or swap for de Jong. With Barcelona struggling in the money department, they may just as well opt for the swap.

Lampard wanted Haaland

Former Chelsea assistant coach, Jody Morris has revealed that Frank Lampard spoke to Erling Haaland when he was the Chelsea boss.

Speaking to the Stadium Astro YouTube channel, Morris said, “It is not always the one that looks like the perfect fit that gets it over the line. They will face competition from Manchester City, I think Chelsea will be involved.

“I know Chelsea was interested in him previously. I know he was speaking to Frank when he was manager of Chelsea.

“I think he is a boy that knows he is in demand and he won’t rush any decision and he hasn’t so far.”

Our take: This will certainly get Chelsea fans talking, knowing that there was some sort of contact between Chelsea and the Borussia Dortmund forward in the last year or so. Could the Blues really nab him with the stiff competition?

Tuchel approves Chiesa chase

Italian journalist Enzo Bucchioni has reported that Thomas Tuchel approves of and is happy with Chelsea’s approach for Federico Chiesa.

The Italian international is on loan until 2022 at Juventus and is a sought after target after his exploits in the European Championship.

Bucchioni on the matter said, "Chelsea have decided to take action and offer €84million for Federico Chiesa.

"Evidently seeing him play twice closely has removed the last doubts and Tuchel gave the OK and the operation has officially started through intermediaries."

Our take: Federico Chiesa is a huge prospect at the age of 24 if he does make a move, he will be looking to find a good home where he can play at his peak.

Chelsea were lacklustre against Manchester United over the weekend in attacking form at times and Chiesa sure would be a good addition to amp up the forward threat...
