Thomas Tuchel already knows the perfect Jorginho replacement after Chelsea transfer decision

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is going nowhere this summer.

Amid talk of a return to Italy, the double European Champions' agent has quashed talk of the 29-year-old bidding farewell to the Stamford Bridge faithful during the current transfer window.

"He has a two-year contract and everything is in the club's hands," Joao Santos told CalcioMercato as per Sport Witness. "There’s the Clubs World Cup, there’s the European Super Cup. For a footballer these are important goals. But, the transfer market is always the transfer market and if a major club comes forward seriously with Chelsea, then we will evaluate.

"At the moment, Jorginho will play at Chelsea next season. I confirm it, these interests have arrived. Of course, at 29 he can do very well in all the top European clubs and many are interested in him."

Santos' comments about evaluating Jorginho 's future if a major club shows serious interest could hint at a major decision facing Chelsea in the next 12 months.

If the Blues can't tie the midfielder down to a new contract before the end of the 2021/22, they may have to consider selling the Italy next summer or risk losing him on a free.

This scenario would leave Chelsea looking for a Jorginho replacement.

Luckily, Thomas Tuchel already knows exactly who that player is and it's someone that can save the club millions in a future transfer window.

Speaking in January, former Blues striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink tipped Billy Gilmour to take Jorginho's place in the side in the future.

“I like him, he handles the ball really, really well," the Dutchman said. "Chelsea bought Jorginho a few years ago and they now have this boy coming through and I think he will take Jorginho’s place.

"He has more [about him] than Jorginho.

"He is a really, really good talent."

For Gilmour to prove Hasselbaink right he needs more game time and he will get just that following Chelsea's decision to loan him out to Premier League newboys Norwich City.
