Thomas the Tank Engine is returning to East Lancashire Railway

TV favourite Thomas the Tank Engine is coming back to East Lancashire Railway for this year's Day Out With Thomas events.

The family day out includes rides on Thomas, the chance to meet the Fat Controller and performances from Rusty and Dusty, Sodor's cheeky station sweepers.

There are also Thomas-themed stories and activities in the Imagination Station and socially distanced entertainment including Magic Shows.

It's a hugely popular event among young fans of the show and gives families a 45-minute round trip along the scenic journey through Burrs Country Park and Summerseat, to arrive at the station in Ramsbottom.

The events run over two weekends this year (East Lancs Railway)

Rides are running across the weekends of August 7 and 8 and October 2 and 3 and tickets cost £38.50 for a table for two or £66 for a table for four.

Families arrive at Bury Bolton Street Station for the event, with the additional entertainment, including Rusty and Dusty, across the road at Bury Transport Museum.

Train rides run between 9.45am and 2.45pm on each of the days. To book tickets, visit the website.
