Thomas Partey records special Instagram message for Arsenal fans after £45m transfer

Thomas Partey has recorded a special message for Arsenal supporters.

The midfielder's move from Atletico Madrid was completed on transfer deadline day, although with it being the international break he won't report to London Colney until next week ahead of the Premier League clash against Manchester City.

And as he prepares for Ghana's clash against Mali on Friday evening, Partey has delivered his verdict on his £45m Arsenal transfer and thanked supporters for their messages.

The lowdown and verdict on Arsenal's transfer window

"Hello, Gunners!" he told Arsenal’s official Instagram channel. "Thanks so much for the love, for the messages I’ve received.

"I can't wait to be part of you guys, I can't wait to join the team.

"It's a great feeling to be part of a family like this. Thanks so much to everyone for the love, I feel so grateful and I feel so amazed to be part of you.

"I can't wait to join you guys.

"And don’t forget, no Thomas, no Partey!"

Partey has also updated his Instagram profile page to show he's an Arsenal player.

Speaking after the deal was confirmed, manager Mikel Arteta has told Arsenal fans what to expect from the new £45m signing.

"We identified him a few months ago and we have been following his progress, and obviously the more you know about the squad, you know more about where you think you can improve it," Arteta told Arsenal.com.

"We believe he has the right qualities, with his character and his personality and as well with his technical qualities and positional options that he can give to the team.

"I think he allows us to play different formations and he can fit in within those formations in different positions, which is a really good thing to have in a squad where, in midfield, I think we were a little bit short.

"I have a few things in mind that I want to start to train with the team and [Partey's signing] is going to give us a little bit more adaptability and more balance in defending and attacking transitions and the way we have to set up certain structures to attack better in certain moments of the game."
