Thomas Partey has hailed the arrival of Martin Odegaard at Arsenal, highlighting how the 22-year-old can provide a boost to Mikel Arteta's side.
The Gunners landed the Norway international on loan from Real Madrid until the end of the season, with the addition providing a boost to their attacking play.
Odegaard made his debut in the goalless draw against Manchester United last week in a seven-minute cameo off the bench, then playing the final 25 minutes of Arsenal's defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday.
Mikel Arteta is slowly introducing the creative midfielder to Arsenal's set-up and further opportunities are likely to be on the horizon, with a packed schedule of fixtures continuing.
A rare week off has been handed to Arteta's side before next week's hosting of Leeds United but the clash against the Whites is followed by the return of Europa League football.
Overall, that means the Gunners have five games in the space of just 14 days and Partey has outlined the sort of influence that Odegaard could have in north London.
“It’s difficult when you play against him. I remember playing against him, he’s so intelligent, he is always quick on the ball, he doesn’t give you a chance to win the ball," he told Stadium Astro.
"It’s amazing to have him here. I hope he has a great season and he’s able to help us achieve what we want to achieve.”
Odegaard has a point to prove to Real Madrid following limited opportunities in the first half of the season and Arsenal will look to benefit from that stance.
