Thomas Partey has already endorsed £63million Arsenal move amid fresh transfer links

Arsenal technical director Edu will likely be preparing for the January transfer window, which is now just over three weeks away.

The Brazilian enjoyed a hectic summer, signing six-first team players as the Gunners spent more than any other Premier League club - splashing in excess of £140million.

Despite their heavy summer spending, the north Londoners could still be forced to dip into the winter market considering they will lose Thomas Partey, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe and Mohamed Elneny to the Africa Cup of Nations in the coming weeks.

The Gunners have been linked with a host of names across Europe, particularly strikers, given both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are into the final seven months of their contracts with the club.

Now, Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix is the latest to be mooted as a potential target, with Spanish outlet AS claiming that Atletico president Gil Marin has told Felix’s agent Jorge Mendes that the club would be willing to part ways with the youngster if a suitable offer arrives.

The report also names four English sides that have enquired for the Portuguese international, who is valued at £63million on Transfermarkt, as Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United are all reportedly interested.

Arsenal star Partey played with Felix in the Spanish capital before making the move to north London back in October 2020, and if the tough-tackling midfielder's verdict is anything to go on, Edu may want to act quickly in the market.

Partey has previously hailed the 22-year-old's undeniable talent in quotes that would no doubt come as any endorsement for a January transfer move.

“Joao Felix is a very talented player", Partey told Mundo Deportivo back in 2019. "He does wonderful things.

“He just arrived and I hope they don't put a lot of pressure on him to keep growing. That way everything will work out."
