Thomas Partey drops Instagram hint over Mikel Arteta's Arsenal team selection vs Molde

Mikel Arteta looks set to name Thomas Partey in his Arsenal matchday squad for tonight's Europa League clash against Molde.

The central midfielder has enjoyed an impressive start to life as a Gunners player and he came in for a lot of praise following the 1-0 win over Manchester United last weekend.

Partey, who played 90 minutes in the matchday one win over Rapid Wien a fortnight ago, was an unused substitute as Arsenal beat Dundalk 3-0 seven days ago and is available for today's clash.

Speaking ahead of the game against Molde, Arteta did discuss the prospect of rotating his squad given his side are back in action on Sunday against Aston Villa in the Premier League.

"Well, it's not like that and tomorrow you will see some changes again," the Arsenal manager said in his pre-match press conference when asked if he has different teams for the respective competitions.

"I believe we have to manage over time the minutes and exposure that we give to the players with the amount of games that we have now, and also in the International break they play three games, then until March we are playing every three or four days.

"So we have to think what we need at the present and mid-term as well a bit because it is going to get really, really condensed."

But does this mean another start for Partey in what would be an Arsenal home debut in the Europa League for the £45m summer signing from Atletico Madrid?

It looks like he will at least be in the matchday squad if his Instagram Stories are anything to go by.

Taking to social media Partey has done his best to hype up the big game in north London which would suggest he's set to at least be on the bench.

Interestingly, Partey's teammates Cedric Soares and Mesut Ozil have done the same thing when they've been included in matchday squads over the past year.

So it would appear that Arteta is taking no chances despite his side being favourites to beat Molde.

With that said, Arteta will be without as many as five first-team players as Pablo Mari and Gabriel Martinelli miss out through injury.

Calum Chambers is back in full training following knee surgery but doesn't appear to be available for selection.

Meanwhile, Mesut Ozil and Sokratis Papastathopoulos are ineligible having not been registered in the Europa League squad.
