Thomas Partey drops cryptic Arsenal hint as Ronald Koeman devises Philippe Coutinho plan

Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Tuesday, September 8.

Arsenal injury news and return dates

The Gunners are preparing for their first Premier League game of the season against Scott Parker’s Fulham.

Mikel Arteta’s squad is in good shape, and there are just four first-team players considered doubts for the season opener.

Dani Ceballos will be back in action after completing a loan move from Real Madrid, and you can read the full breakdown of the club’s injury concerns here.

Who should start in Arsenal's defence?

Thomas Partey ‘likes’ Arsenal fan’s tweet

Thomas Partey has liked an Arsenal fan’s tweet as speculation surrounding his future at Atletico Madrid continues.

The Ghanian midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates, but so far the club have not been able to agree a deal with Diego Simeone’s side. Arsenal fans have been clamouring for even a small sign he might be close to joining the club, and they got that thanks to Twitter.

The original tweet was from Goal, and said: “Thomas Partey is going to be a star.”

And the fan quote retweeted it, with the caption: “Going to be? He’s already a star,” to which Partey responded by liking it.

Marca claim Atletico are lining up Espanyol’s Marc Roca if Partey is sold this summer. Read here

Coutinho latest

Arsenal have had a busy transfer window with several new faces arriving at the Emirates.

One name that continues to be linked with the club is Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian is back at Barcelona after a season with Bayern Munich, during which he won the Bundesliga and the Champions League.

It was believed the Spanish giants would try and sell Coutinho to fund other deals, but his future remains unclear at this time. You can read that here.
