Thomas Partey booed during England vs Ghana World Cup match

  • Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey was booed during the early stages of his side’s World Cup clash with England on Tuesday.
  • Partey has been charged with seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault and is awaiting trial in London - he has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
  • He was denied a Canadian visa for Ghana’s opening match against Panama, but was allowed to play in Tuesday’s match against England in Boston.
  • When Partey touched the ball early on, there were audible boos from the crowd at Boston Stadium.
  • Partey spent five years at Arsenal between 2020 and 2025 before leaving the join La Liga club Villarreal last year.
