Thomas Morstead recognized as NFC Special Teams Player of the Week

New Orleans Saints punter Thomas Morstead earned recognition from the NFL as the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 6, having placed five of his six punts against the Jacksonville Jaguars inside their 20-yard line. In total, Morstead punted for 251 yards on Sunday. Obviously you don’t want to see him punting so often, but it’s impossible to complain about those results.

This is the second NFC Special Teams Player of the Week award for Morstead I’m 2019, having previously won it after a game-changing performance in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks. A consistent high level of play earned Morstead his first recognition as NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September.

In addition to Morstead, the other NFC Players of the Week included Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and Washington Redskins safety Landon Collins. In the AFC, New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Devin Bush, and Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker won each of their categories for Week 6.
