Thomas Meunier snubs Tottenham but says he'd be a top signing 'even if I cut off a leg'

Paris Saint-Germain right back Thomas Meunier has rejected speculation linking him with a move to Tottenham and says he wants to remain with the French champions.

The 28-year-old has been a bit-part player for Thomas Tuchel's side this season, making just 16 appearances in Ligue 1, and with his contract set to expire in June there seems a strong possibility he will move on.

The player insists he still sees his future at Parc des Princes, but said if the club do decide to let him go he is not worried about his prospects of finding a new team.

Speaking to RTBF , Meunier said: "A free, international player, who plays in the FIFA ranked world's No.1 team (Belgium) and who is 28 years old, it cannot be a bad buy, even if I get gangrene and I have to cut off a leg!

"Clubs don't have much to lose in the investment, and I think they know it. They have everything to gain."

Meunier has also been linked with the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan, but claims that all the rumours suggesting he is ready to move to another club are nonsense, and that his priority is to stay with PSG.

He continued: "Everything that circulates on me on social media versus Dortmund, I don't understand: I've seen so many articles linking me to Tottenham or Inter.

"I don't understand this craze. My main objective is always to stay in Paris, but for the moment it's pretty calm."

Meunier first joined PSG from Club Brugge in 2016 and has had a hugely successful spell in the French capital, winning eight trophies, including two Ligue 1 titles.

He has also regularly appeared for Belgium, and played a big part in helping his country finish third at World Cup 2018.
