Thomas Meunier addresses transfer links to Arsenal and Manchester United

Arsenal and Manchester United have both been handed a blow after Thomas Meunier addressed his future after speculation linking him with a move to London.

The Paris Saint-Germain defender has one year left to run on his current deal, with Manchester United also rumoured to be in the running for his signature.

Arsenal are looking to bolster their options in the defence and with Hector Bellerin ruled out until November with a cruciate ligament injury, Meunier could help breach the hole left by the Spaniard.

Chelsea are also said to be interested but are unlikely to make a move given their transfer ban.

Manchester United are interested, with Ashley Young ageing and Antonio Valencia leaving the club.

However, the Gunners have been dealt a blow after the 27-year-old insisted he does not see his future away from the Parc des Princes, despite making only 21 league appearances this season.

For much of the season he has played second fiddle to Daniel Alves and Thilo Kehrer, but that hasn’t deterred the fullback from fighting for his future.

"As I have said, nothing is clear, with regards to me or the club," Meunier told Canal+.

Lille manager delivers big update on Nicolas Pepe's future amid Arsenal and Man United links

“People are enquiring, left and right, but I still have another year on my contract. The club knows my position, I have always said that I want to stay.

“Aside from that, do I suit them or not, do they want to change the Paris cycle a bit?

"Nothing is clear for the moment and we are going to see what happens. I think that I will receive news during the holidays.”

Not exactly the news the trio of Premier League clubs were hoping for, though it's clear his future remains up in the air.
