Thomas Markle said he has no intention of calling his granddaughter by her full name Lilibet as it is "unnecessary".
Meghan Markle's dad, who lives in the US, instead will simply call the Sussex's second chid Lili, as it's "perfect".
Harry, 36, and Meghan, 40, who moved to the US in March last year after quitting their lives as senior royals, welcomed Lilibet 'Lili' Diana into the world in June, with the new arrival weighing a healthy 7lb 11oz.
But the youngster is yet to meet her grandfather Thomas Markle Snr – who has also never met her brother Archie who is now two years old, the Daily Star reports.
And now, Thomas Markle Snr has hit out at his daughter Meghan and her husband over their treatment of the royal family in a recent television interview on GB News.

In an interview with host Dan Wootton, Mr Markle said he would "dearly like" to meet and hold Lilibet, as well as her brother Archie.
But he also revealed he refuses to call his granddaughter by her full name.
Mr Markle said: "I call her Lili. Just plain Lili. I think that's a great name. Lili is a perfect name for her.
"I'd like to see her. I'd dearly like to see her and hold her.
"Same for Archie, I'd like to see Archie as well.
"But I don't think Lilibet is necessary, Lili is perfect."

During the television interview, Mr Markle also labeled the Sussexes' "attacks" on the Royal Family as "embarrassing and unforgivable".
He said: "Both Meghan and Harry are attacking the royal family from both of them and for god's sakes, attacking a 95-year-old great-grandmother.

"It's unforgivable and none of the rest of the royals have deserved what they've been shovelled out either.
"It's embarrassing that they're doing this.
Thomas Snr also claimed Meghan has "changed" and branded her a liar who has been dishonest for years.
He said: "She's changed, she's not the daughter I knew."
