Thomas Markle tells Harry and Meghan to ‘stop whining' during pandemic

The Duchess of Sussex's estranged father Thomas Markle has warned his daughter and husband Prince Harry to stop "whining" while the coronavirus pandemic continues.

It comes after the couple claimed they have had nothing to do with new bombshell biography Finding Freedom, which makes a string of complaints about other royals and takes aim at Mr Markle for selling photos in ahead of the couple's wedding.

A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan denied that the couple contributed to the book, but did not deny the content of published extracts.

Speaking to the Sun, Mr Markle said: “I love my daughter but I really don’t appreciate what she’s become right now.”

The duchess’s father added that now is “worst time in the world to be whining.”

The book by former royal correspondents Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand alleged that Meghan felt let down when her dad lied to her by denying he helped stage paparazzi photos prior to her wedding in May 2018.

Mr Markle did not attend his daughter’s wedding, partly due to suffering a heart attack days before.

The book gives further glimpses into the duchess's troubled relationship with Mr Markle, including a string of unreturned phone messages and texts from her in the days before her wedding.

It is not the first time Mr Markle has launched tirade against his daughter and the Duke of Sussex. In January, he called the couple's decision to stand down as senior royals and move away from the UK "embarrassing."
