Arsenal continue to be linked with midfield reinforcements, but time is running out before the summer transfer window shuts.
The latest name is that of Atletico Madrid's Thomas Lemar as the Telegraph claim that the Gunners have registered an interest in signing the Frenchman on loan ahead of the 11pm deadline.
Furthermore, the report states that the north London outfit could look to Lemar as an alternative to Houssem Aouar who has confirmed he will be staying at Lyon this season.
If Lemar was to join the Gunners, supporters will be looking forward to seeing the Frenchman holding the Arsenal shirt at his unveiling - but what squad number could the attacking midfielder take at the Emirates Stadium?
Well, it would appear that Lemar has two favoured options.
He's worn no.11 ever since joining Atletico Madrid a couple of summers ago, but for AS Monaco he wore no.27 on the back of his shirt following his arrival from Caen - where he also wore no.27.
The other shirt numbers Lemar has worn as a senior player include no.8 and no.20 for the France national team.
At Arsenal, the incumbent no. 11 is Lucas Torreira.
However, the Uruguay international is set to seal a move away from north London before the transfer window closes - ironically to Atletico Madrid - so he will soon vacate the no.11.
This means Lemar could receive his favoured number if he was to join Arsenal on loan and once Torreira's move to Wanda Metropolitano Stadium is confirmed.
Alternatively, he could opt for no.27 which is currently free after Konstantinos Mavropanos joined Stuttgart on loan earlier in the summer.
With that said, what other squad numbers would be available to the 24-year-old if he does sign for the Gunners before the transfer window closes.
Below, we take a look to see what numbers are currently free at Arsenal.
No.18
One of two shirt numbers Nacho Monreal had at the Emirates, but he departed for Real Sociedad last summer with the Gunners well-stocked for options at left-back in Sead Kolasinac and Kieran Tierney.
No.26
Emiliano Martinez's £20m move to Aston Villa means he has vacated the no.26 shirt.
