Thomas Henry to Celtic transfer latest as agent confirms anonymous UK offer

Celtic target Thomas Henry has confirmed at least one anonymous offer from a UK club for the in-form striker.

The OH Leuven hitman is believed to be on the brink of a move to Parkhead with Celtic closing in on a £7m transfer.

Ange Postecoglou sees him as the ideal replacement for Odsonne Edouard after he netted 21 goals in Belgium's top flight last term and started this season with three goals in three games.

He has previously hinted he wants to take his 'next step' this summer and his manager at Leuven has confirmed he won't stand in his way if an offer arrives.

And now his UK representative Paul Tait has told Football Insider that he has fielded various offers for the hitman - including at least one from an unnamed UK club.

"There are a number of clubs who have expressed an interest in signing Thomas before the transfer window closes,” he said.

“My business partner Dusan has received offers from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and the UK for Thomas, and he will consider all his options before making a decision on his future.”

That report also cites interest from Rangers in the striker but it seems unlikely that this is substantial given how well-stocked they are at the top end of the pitch.
