Brentford's win over Preston North End has denied Leeds United the chance to seal promotion to the Premier League this evening.
And now Bees boss Thomas Frank has sent a warning to the Whites as well as West Brom.
Victory over Preston made it eight successive wins in the Championship for the west London outfit, a brilliant run of form which has seen them tipped by many to gatecrash the automatic promotion places.
Ahead of United's clash against Barnsley at Elland Road, Brentford are just a point behind the Baggies - who are currently in second - and three off the league leaders with two games to play.
In order to catch one of the top two, they would need maximum points from games against Stoke City and Barnsley as well as hoping for favours from elsewhere.
Despite destiny not being in his side's hands, Frank has warned both Leeds and West Brom that automatic promotion is the target.
"Sometimes you forget to enjoy the moment and just move on to the next one," he told reporters. "We have won eight on the bounce playing some top football and it is eight well-deserved wins.
"In a league which we call the most even league in the world, that is remarkable.
"We are in the play-offs, so why not give it a go for direct promotion?
"We are on a high but I am not thinking at all about the game after Saturday and seeing if we can win nine in a row."
With that said, But Leeds' destiny remains in their own hands, despite Brentford's latest victory and Frank's warning.
Four points from games against Barnsley, Derby County and Charlton Athletic will see them return to the top-flight of English football for the first time in over a decade.
Furthermore, a win this evening coupled with West Brom failing to beat Huddersfield Town will be enough to confirm promotion.
