Thomas Davis posts message to Chargers fans, poses in new LA uniform

After being informed he wasn’t in the future plans for the Carolina Panthers – which drafted Thomas Davis in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft – it didn’t take long for the former Georgia outside linebacker to find a new landing spot: the Los Angeles Chargers.

Three months later, Davis posted to Facebook, saying:

“Still living out my dreams! Mark my words this year is going to be a special year. #BoltGang #ASAP #Year15 #FightFor05″

And after 14 years, he will be wearing a slightly lighter shade of blue and white. He added pictures of himself to his Facebook.

The Chargers desperately needed help at linebacker after Sony Michel and the New England Patriots’ run game demolished them in the AFC Divisional round. Davis will immediately help stop the bleeding for Los Angeles.

Davis is 35 years old, but still has some mileage left, and proved so after he racked up 78 tackles in 12 games last season.

And for my favorite tidbit about a former Bulldog: In 2012, Davis became the first player in NFL history to return from three ACL tears…all in the same knee.

He signed a 2 year, $10.5 million deal. And recent stats show Davis may be in line for another big season:
