A venue near Bristol will not take any payment in hosting weddings of couples whose marriage plans were hit by the collapse of .
The travel group announced it had ceased trading yesterday (September 23), leaving thousands of holiday-goers in limbo.
But Perrygrove Railway, a steam train attraction in Perrygrove Road, Coleford, has offered a lifeline to couples who had booked flights to get married abroad before Thomas Cook was liquidated.
The farmland attraction has two wedding reception locations - Rookwood for larger parties and Perrygrove carriage shed for smaller ones. Those attending can enjoy the Forest of Dean views in travelling to their venue by steam train.
Perrygrove posted on Facebook: "We are shocked to hear the news that Thomas Cook has gone into administration.
"We are particularly devastated for all the wedding couples who have just had their dreams shattered by the cancellation of their big day.
"If you are one of those couples, then please get in touch with us as we would love to offer you our beautiful venue for FREE.
"Obviously there would be certain restrictions. Please spread the word."
The attraction revealed it has already contacted a Gloucester man called Nigel Heath, who was due to marry Zsuzsa Kislesko in Cyprus before the plans were shelved by Thomas Cook's collapse.
He told Gloucestershire Live yesterday: "At the moment, I just feel like taking the wedding gear, putting it in the bin and burning it."
