Thomas Cook and First Choice holiday staff trained on ISIS terror attack survival skills

Thomas Cook and First Choice holiday reps are being trained on what to do in the event of an ISIS terror attack at hotels across Europe.

Staff are being taught survival skills and holidaymakers are set to be given “terror tips” as part of their welcome briefings.

The news comes after intelligence reports indicated British tourist hotspots are at risk of being targeted by the terror group.

A source reportedly told The Daily Star Sunday: “The welcome talk is normally when you hear about what trips they will be offering, what is going on in the local area and what facilities the hotel offers.

“But now it will include what to do if your hotel is attacked by masked people with guns.

“Holidaymakers will be told to escape to their rooms if they can get there safely and quickly in the event of an attack and to barricade themselves in.”

Holiday reps will hand out a list of shelters tourists can run to in the event of an attack on a beach.

ISIS still pose a strong and serious terror threat despite losing their territory in Syria.

In 2015, 30 Brits were killed in an attack in Tunisia.

Earlier this year, on Easter Sunday, churches and hotels in Sri Lanka were targeted and nearly 300 people were killed, including some Brits.

It was recently revealed by the heads of MI6 and MI5 that tourists were at risk in popular Mediterranean resorts including Spain, Turkey, Greece and Tenerife.
