Thomas Christiansen gets off to fast start in his first job since leaving Leeds United

It's been a dream to start to the 2019/20 season for former Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen.

Christiansen was put in charge of Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, who play their football in the second tier of Belgian football, in July.

Since taking the helm, Christiansen has overseen the perfect start - three victories from three games. In the first game they took on Roeselare, coming away 3-0 victors, before going away to Virton and winning 1-0.

This weekend saw them put three goals past Lokeren, the game finished 3-1 and saw them go joint top of the league with Westerlo.

This is the first position Christiansen has held since being sacked from Leeds United in February 2018. He took charge of the Whites for 30 games in the 2017/18 campaign.

A positive start saw Leeds top the table in September before hitting a poor run of form which saw them go seven games without a win and get knocked out of the FA Cup by Newport County in the third round. Christiansen was sacked by Andrea Radrizzani in the wake of a 4-1 defeat at home to Cardiff City.

Next up for Christiansen's team is fourth place Beerschot Wilrijk on Friday August 30.
