Port Adelaide's Lindsay Thomas has been handed a three-match ban for a heavy hit against Geelong's Scott Selwood, which left the Cats midfielder concussed.
Thomas, who appeared before the AFL Tribunal via video link, pleaded guilty to rough conduct on Selwood during the Power's 34-point AFL loss to Geelong.
The clash occurred midway through the second quarter and Selwood missed the remainder of the game.
The former North Melbourne player will now miss four games after he coped an additional week's ban for scuffling with Selwood's brother, Joel, after the bump.
Joel Selwood was offered a one-match ban for the altercation but may launch an appeal.
Thomas said he accepted the tribunal's ruling and apologised to his team mates for the suspension.
"I thought I had a fair hearing and I accept the sanction handed down to me," he said.
"I hope Scott's OK, I didn't intentionally go out there to hurt him it, so I hope he's OK."
Meanwhile, Hawthorn's James Sicily has been suspended for one week after the defender pleaded guilty to serious misconduct.
Sicily was alleged to have stomped on the leg of North Melbourne's Shaun Atley.
He said he was "a bit disappointed" he missed a game and today's training session with his team mates.
"Partly with the result but more disappointed with the fact that I'm here," he said outside the tribunal.
"It's definitely something I've learned from, this whole experience right now."
